Benny's Grill to Celebrate Grand Opening
Decatur, IL -Benny's Grill will celebrate its grand opening on Thursday, December 8, 2011, with a Greater Decatur Chamber of Commerce (GDCC) ribbon cutting ceremony at 1770 East Pershing Road in Decatur.
The 90 seat restaurant opened its doors on August 18, 2011, and has added 14 new jobs to the local economy.
Benny's Grill features American cuisine and casual Italian fare for lunch and dinner and offers a full bar. The kitchen is open Monday thru Thursday 11:00 a.m. to 9:00 p.m., Friday and Saturday 11:00 a.m. to 10:00 p.m. and Sunday brunch from 10:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m.
Benny Ballazhi, owner, also operates Tuscany Steak and Pasta House on Decatur's west end. "We are excited about our next venture in the restaurant business. We look forward to branching out and offering visitors, residents and business professionals an additional option in town for their dining needs," said Ballazhi.
The GDCC ribbon cutting ceremony will begin at 11:30 a.m. and feature the Chamber's ceremonial scissors from the 1930s that have cut ribbons signifying many major business milestones in Decatur and Macon County.
Benny's Grill is a silver level member of the Greater Decatur Chamber of Commerce.
The Greater Decatur Chamber of Commerce (GDCC) was chartered on July 3, 1903, but traces its roots back to the 1887 formation of the Decatur Board of Trade. The GDCC is recognized as the second oldest Chamber of Commerce in the state of Illinois and will celebrate its 125th anniversary in 2012. The Chamber's mission is to be a pro-business network providing service, political advocacy, and leadership to strengthen education, community image, and local businesses.
