Decatur, IL -The 59th Annual Community Thanksgiving Luncheon, presented by the Greater Decatur Chamber of Commerce (GDCC) and sponsored by Ameren Illinois Company, will feature keynote speaker, Bruce Nims, Entrepreneur-in-Residence at the Tabor School of Business at Millikin University who will deliver the theme For This We Give Thanks on Tuesday, November 22, 2011, at the Decatur Civic Center.
The Annual Community Thanksgiving Luncheon is a tradition that began in 1953, as a way for the community to come together and offer thanks and blessing for the year. The first luncheon was a special joint meeting of the men's service clubs. Several of the women's service clubs have since been added to the roster of annual participants.
The luncheon has drawn a capacity crowd over the years and more than 33,000 people have attended since its inception. "I am honored to be a part of this year's Community Thanksgiving Luncheon and join the leaders in our community at the head table. There have been many remarkable accomplishments made over the past year that will be recognized as part of the program," stated Nims.
Join all members of the community for the 59th Annual Community Thanksgiving Luncheon as we give thanks to business, organizations and leaders that make our community a great place to do business, live and raise families. Doors open at 11:30 a.m. and the program to begin at 12:00 p.m.
