Richland Community College to Host Chamber Business After Hours
Decatur, IL -Richland Community College (RCC) is celebrating its 40th anniversary with the theme, "Celebrating the Past-Engaging the Future" and invites the community to attend a Chamber Business After Hours on Thursday, November 10th from 5-7 p.m. at the Center for Sustainability and Innovation Rotunda Room on the RCC campus.
Attendees of the Chamber Business After Hours will hear examples of the solid foundation that has been laid during the last forty years to engage the future including: an interactive display kiosk designed to share with the public the uniqueness of the Center for Sustainability and Innovation and what elements are in the facility that makes it Platinum LEED Certified. There will also be conversation about the Bronze status Richland received through STARS (Sustainability & Tracking Assessment Rating System) and the college's "green" curriculum.
Over the past forty years, RCC has provided education and training services to over 330,000 students and has awarded over 15,000 degrees and certificates.
Richland Community College is a gold level member and platinum sponsor of the Greater Decatur Chamber of Commerce.
The Greater Decatur Chamber of Commerce (GDCC) was chartered on July 3, 1903, but traces its roots back to the 1887 formation of the Decatur Board of Trade. The GDCC is recognized as the second oldest Chamber of Commerce in the state of Illinois and will celebrate its 125th anniversary in 2012.
