Chamber Annual Meeting To Be Held During Business Breakfast

Decatur, IL -The Greater Decatur Chamber of Commerce (GDCC) will host its Annual Meeting during the monthly Chamber Business Breakfast on Wednesday, November 2nd at the Decatur Club at 7:00 a.m. The meeting will feature Kevin Kast, incoming Board Chairman, Gretchen Murphy, Assistant Treasurer, and Mirinda Rothrock, President of the GDCC, who will present the 2010-2011 Chamber Annual Report.

Kevin Kast, CEO of St. Mary's Hospital has been a Chamber board member since 2006 and will serve as Board Chair in 2012. Gretchen Murphy, Senior Vice President of Soy Capital Bank & Trust has been a Chamber board member since 2008 and currently serves as the Assistant Treasurer/Secretary.

Rothrock was named Chamber President in January 2011, and assumed the role in February. Since joining the Chamber, she has overseen key programs and events and increased membership communications and has spoken at several events including: Millikin's Professional Adult Comprehensive Education (PACE) and MBA graduation this past May and Rotary, Sertoma and Kiwanis Clubs. She has also worked with the Chamber's board and executive committee to strengthen the organization's focus and planning, while continuing to promote opportunity, growth and prosperity in local commerce.

Rothrock began her career at Archer Daniels Midland Company where she held various positions since joining the company in 1986.  The most recent position she held at ADM was Manager of Community Engagement, where she developed and grew community engagement programs and activities that aligned with ADM business objectives.

She serves on the board of directors for Central Illinois Regional Chamber Legislative Effort (CIRCLE), Economic Development Corporation of Decatur & Macon County, Route 51 Coalition, Decatur Area Convention & Visitor Bureau and Webster-Cantrell Hall.

The Greater Decatur Chamber of Commerce (GDCC) was chartered on July 3, 1903, but traces its roots back to the 1887 formation of the Decatur Board of Trade. The GDCC is recognized as the second oldest Chamber of Commerce in the state of Illinois and will celebrate its 125th anniversary in 2012. The Chamber's mission is to be a pro-business network providing service, political advocacy, and leadership to strengthen education, community image, and local businesses.
