Decatur, IL - On Saturday, March 13th, from 9:00am to 3:00pm, FLORA GEMS will host the "Gold & Ice" event. This event provides Decatur and surrounding communities the opportunity to meet 2010 Winter Olympics gold medalist, Aaric Kendall; to see his gold medal; to watch him carve an ice sculpture; to receive an original, autographed photo; and enter for a chance to win a $1,000 FLORA GEMS gift certificate.

This event is free and open to the public. Argenta native, professional ice sculptor and 2010 Winter Olympic gold medalist, Aaric Kendall, has happily agreed to carve an ice sculpture in front of FLORA GEMS for public viewing. During the carving, visitors will have the opportunity to view Mr. Kendall's recently earned Olympic gold medal as it's presented in the FLORA GEMS storefront display case.

"How many people can say that they have seen an Olympic gold medal?" says John Flora, President of FLORA GEMS.

Mr. Flora has committed to providing all necessary funds to host and market the "Gold & Ice" event.

"I feel this type of event is exactly what Decatur needs. Not only are we providing Decatur with acost-free event, we are giving many people the opportunity to see something they have never seenbefore. This will be a great event for families."

After completing the ice sculpture, Mr. Kendall will be signing autographs inside of the FLORA GEMS store. Photographs for signing will be supplied to visitors during the event. The "Gold & Ice" event will begin at 9:00am and is expected to end at 3:00pm.
