The Macon County Farm Bureau is a grassroots organization that was founded in 1916 by an active group of local farmers.
The Farm Bureau organization is lead by its membership to help promote agriculture on a local, state and nationwide level.
The Bureau is an integral part of Macon County as it represents local farmers and serves as their voice as well as promoting agriculture so the general public understands where its food and fuel comes from
As the mission statement reads the Macon County Farm Bureau is "Committed to improving the financial well-being and quality of life of farm families through leadership in communication, education, and legislation."
