Chamber Benefit Spotlight: Spread the Word!

Communication is central to business success. This week's benefit spotlight features all of the ways the Chamber helps members communicate information about their businesses to other businesses and to the community at large.
· Listing in the Chamber directory ($150): Published annually and distributed to more than 700 businesses and organizations, the Chamber membership directory contains a complete listing of all Chamber members.
· Listing in Chamber's online member directory ($150-$500): The online Chamber directory is available 24 hours a day on the Chamber website.Each listing includes contact information, a map link, and a link to the member's website. Silver and Gold tier members can enhance their web directory listing with a 25-word description of their business and their business logo.
· Weekly E-newsletter announcements ($600-$1,800): The Chamber sends an electronic newsletter to over 1,200 Chamber members and associates via e-mail or fax each week, providing valuable insight on business issues and news about upcoming Chamber events. These newsletters drive readers to the Chamber's website, where members may post announcements or advertise events via the Member Bulletin Board section. Bronze members may post to the Member Bulletin Board four times each year. Silver members may post 8 times, and Gold members may post 12 times per year. The allotted postings are free; additional posts may be made for $150 each.
· 501 Club E-Vite ($150): Members may advertise an event or opportunity to the 1,500-plus young professionals who belong to the Decatur 501 Club via the club's weekly electronic newsletter. This benefit is limited to one free E-vite per year.
· Mailing Labels ($50-$150) – Chamber members may purchase a discounted set of membership mailing labels to facilitate a direct mail campaign. Bronze level members receive a $50 discount; Silver tier members receive a $100 discount; and Gold level members receive a free set of mailing labels, valued at $150. This discount may only be used once per year.
· Ag Café and/or Business Breakfast Exhibitor ($250): Silver and Gold level members may exhibit at an Ag Café and/or a Chamber Business Breakfast. Exhibitors are on the agenda to give a short presentation and can collect business cards for a door prize drawing and follow up contacts. Exhibitors must pay a $50 fee for the privilege of exhibiting at these events.
· Chamber Ribbon Cutting ($500): The Chamber provides the ribbon and the 1931 ceremonial scissors to celebrate new business openings, anniversaries, and business expansions. Community leaders are invited to the ceremony, including the Mayor, the Chamber Board of Directors, and Chamber Ambassadors. A picture commemorating the event is placed on the Chamber website as well as in a local newspaper. This complimentary benefit extends only to Chamber members at the Silver tier level and above.
