    Job Description
    General Description:

    Macon County CASA relies on trained volunteers appointed by the court to provide advocacy for children and youth who have been abused and neglected. Our vital role is to look out for the best interest of these children who have been placed in foster care under court supervision. CASA works with DCFS and other agencies to ensure children's rights and best interests are protected.

    The CASA Advocate Supervisor provides professional staff support to CASA volunteers and proactively provides supervision and guidance to each volunteer and case to which they are assigned. The CASA Advocate Supervisor is responsible for attending court hearings, administrative case reviews and other meetings, as necessary, to support children and volunteers. The CASA Advocate Supervisor is responsible for ensuring all the children to whom they are assigned receive sound advocacy.


    Bachelor’s Degree: Human Services, Social Work or related field

    Minimum two years of experience in social service field

    Effective oral and written communication skills

    Ability to work with culturally diverse individuals

    Knowledge and understanding about child abuse and neglect

    Commitment to CASA’s mission and vision

    Willingness to be available to volunteers by cell phone at any time.


    The CASA Program Director manages CASA Advocate Supervisors. The Advocate Supervisor works actively to maintain good relationships with volunteers assigned through frequent(at least monthly) contacts, such that volunteers are engaged, stay with CASA from case to case and volunteer turnover is kept to a minimum. The Advocate Supervisor maintains good relationships with all involved in the cases assigned but is primarily concerned with support of the volunteer and what is in the best interests of the child.
