Andrea Fairchild joined Kobe, Inc. in 2014, which was formed by NBA Legend Kobe Bryant to inform and inspire athletes around the world. Fairchild is leading efforts to grow a global multi-media company aimed at using sports stories to inspire and educate young athletes across multiple platforms including content, publishing, digital and experiential. In 2015, Kobe Inc. produced its first film, Kobe Bryant’s Muse, which debuted on Showtime and Alibaba’s OTT platform in China. She led the team in creating the first-ever athlete owned integrated marketing campaign and global licensing opportunities for Bryant’s last NBA season.
Fairchild joined Kobe Inc. after five years with Gatorade, where she was responsible for leading the Gatorade business and expanding its global presence. She guided and implemented the brand’s overall strategic global vision, which began with the spring 2010 launch of the G Series, a new line of products supported by the latest science and developed in collaboration with the world’s greatest athletes to provide fuel, fluid and nutrients before, during and after activity. Additionally, she assisted Gatorade in identifying future innovation opportunities that expand the brand’s category-leading portfolio of sports performance solutions, while also leading Gatorade’s move into sports performance retail channels. Fairchild was focused on driving that same strategic vision globally as Gatorade expanded its footprint into other key international markets. Her role leading the brand and long-term strategy of being the world leader in fueling athletic performance includes accelerating the youth pipeline through experiential marketing and influencer relationships, overseeing and executing a global sports marketing portfolio, retail implementation, digital platforms, marketing communications, brand design and Gatorade’s marketing execution of the Gatorade Sports Science Institute.
Prior to her at Gatorade, she spent over 10 years with Nike, where she was responsible for driving global business growth for the Women’s category. Fairchild split time between Nike’s domestic and European headquarters and drove the strategic direction and worldwide business growth across sales, merchandising, brand marketing and retail presentation. As she advanced at Nike, Fairchild developed a reputation as a creative and innovative marketer with a strong understanding of what makes athletes tick. She led a variety of marketing initiatives, including the execution of inspiring retail and various campaigns, the development of on-line training programs for athletes and the coordination of global sporting events.
